Nextdoor Nature is an initiative funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to create a network of community-led nature recovery projects across the UK as a lasting natural legacy in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Scottish Wildlife Trust has been delivering Nextdoor Nature in Scotland since May 2022. Through our Nextdoor Nature Pioneers Programme, we have supported over 30 participants to gain new skills, knowledge and experience in leading and delivering action for nature within their communities. We have also developed a Community Action website containing inspiring case studies and useful resources for communities across the country.

The role of Communications Officer will support all communications aspects for the remainder of the Nextdoor Nature project. This includes developing new resources for the Community Action website, providing support to the final cohort of Nextdoor Nature Pioneer Programme participants (online and at events) and supporting the implementation of the Nextdoor Nature legacy plan.

Main Objectives:

· To manage and maintain the online learning platform that hosts the Nextdoor Nature Pioneers Programme (built using the LearnDash Learning Management System).

· To develop and promote new resources for the Community Action website that facilitate action for nature within communities across Scotland.

· To oversee the delivery of a commissioned end of project video.

· To support the Head of Communications & Engagement in developing and implementing the legacy plan for the Nextdoor Nature Pioneers Programme.
